DESCRIPTION

• Collaborated with Bestor Architecture, LMA, AMA Engineers, and HBC to transform two warehouse buildings into an award winning headquarters for Beats by Dr. Dre.
• Tenant improvement for Beats by Dre
• New 5-story, 560 space parking structure

SCOPE

• Provided structural engineering and construction administration services for core and shell and tenant improvement work in office buildings

ACHIEVEMENTS

• Created large diaphragm openings, numerous wall openings, and new sawtooth roofs with clerestory windows at 8550 Higuera
• Seismic retrofit with steel rods, wall anchors and cross ties to meet current code requirements
• Worked closely with the project soils engineer to re-use existing conventional foundations where possible at the existing building columns
• Collaborated with the team to accommodate a variety of spaces including: executive, sales, marketing, finance, and administration departments, as well as a state of the art acoustical testing lab
• Large decks for indoor/outdoor environment
• Designed and built both office buildings in less than one year
• Regarded as one of the World’s Coolest Offices by inc.om
